Is summer really over? October 3rd, 2019

It’s a damp Thursday afternoon here in Wales and I know I keep banging on about how amazing the Agates in my Agate jewellery are…but I’ve had a new delivery. There are a couple of new colours of ‘marbled’ Agates, as well as the banded Agates you’re used to seeing and I think they are fabulous. I didn’t get too many, in case I didn’t like them…but I’m going to get some more. All feedback gratefully received.
Meanwhile, we’ve had a busy summer here.  We’ve made a lot of bracelets, earrings and pendants and this summer, you seem to have preferred our brightest colours!
It appears that the favourite bracelet is still the regular Celtic Chakra, though the Chunky Chakra bracelet is a close second. Well guess what? I’ve been working on a little Chakra bracelet too, so the littlies can have one just like Mummy! The finished length is 6.5” – we’ve experimented on as many grandchildren as we could! We’re packing it in an organza bag, with all of the usual information.
Needless to say (and no surprise), boxed Agate bracelets come next. This is great for us – there are now lots of different colours to choose from and they are a pleasure to combine, especially with this new delivery of ‘marbled’ beads.
The favourite Boxed Beady pendant style is the Dragons Eye. As you know, it looks great, is very tactile and we can make it with lots of different gemstones. I’ve developed a new technique for fettling the Dragons Eye beads, which makes them a lot less complicated to clean up and finish off! Let’s hope that my mould will be good for a lot more beads yet!
Back to my damp Thursday afternoon. As some of you know, we got caught up in the recent and sad demise of Thomas Cook and lost our holiday to Kefalonia. But I managed to get us away to Santorini instead, at the very last minute. We love the Greek Islands and Santorini did not disappoint. Its nothing but a great big volcano really, still active but not since 1950. What a fabulous week we had – lots of walking and swimming, plenty of big tomatoes and retsina, hot hot sunshine and the most beautiful big blue skies.
My batteries are recharged and I’m ready for your new orders.
Wales is lovely too, even if the leaves are starting to turn and fall. Now, where are my socks? xXx
